Outdoor Storytime on the North Library Lawn
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10am
June 24th-August 1st
We're excited to offer outdoor storytime for all ages on the library's north lawn. Join us for stories, songs, and more. In case of bad weather, we'll hold storytime in the Storytime Room.
Cards of Kindness Drop-In Craft
Friday, June 14th from 10am-5pm
Saturday, June 15th from 10am-3:30pm
Stop by the YS area during open hours to make a craft for someone you love. We'll have plenty of art supplies and a few examples to inspire you.
Beaded Friendship Bracelets for Tweens
Monday, June 17th at 10am
Entering 4th-6th grade.
Kick off your summer break by making some beaded friendship bracelets. We'll provide all the supplies you need.
Summer Solstice Felt Collage
Thursday, June 20th from 2:00pm-4:00pm
All Ages. Registration open now.
Celebrate the first day of summer and the longest period of sunlight in the calendar year with some collaging! Drop-in any time between 2pm and 4pm and we'll show you how to create a beautiful summer sunset out of felt and other crafting materials.

Join us for a new series: summer sketching! We'll provide the sketchbooks and materials, and we'll also have a variety of prompts to inspire. Join us for the entire series or only for one day.
World Yo-Yo Champion Mark Hayward

World Yo-yo Champion Mark Hayward’s performance consists of an amusing combination of comedy and object manipulation. He uses props such as yo-yos, tops and juggling equipment, as well as nontraditional performing props like a mousetrap, in a fun and witty style for a show that can be enjoyed by anyone.
Drop-In Crafting: Merit Badge Buttons
Wednesday, July 3rd during open hours.
All ages. No registration required.
Stop by the youth services area to make your very own summer merit badge buttons and celebrate your summer accomplishments. Create your own design or use one of our pre-made templates!
Candy Sushi for Tweens
Monday, July 8th at 1pm.
Entering grades 4th-6th. Registration open now.
Candy sushi is mock sushi made up of chewy candy and Rice Krispy squares wrapped in fruit roll up. Make your own delicious version at this program.

Duke Otherwise

Paper Plate Mobiles
Wednesday, July 10th from 3:30pm-5:00pm.
All ages. (Young children are welcome with an adult.) No registration required.
Make a mobile at this process-focused art program. We'll start with a simple paper plate and then give a wide range of craft supplies to make your very spinning mobile.
What's process-focused art? It's open ended, self motivated and the emphasis is on the process of making the art, rather than the product produced.

You’re invited to Dabble Lab! We’ll have a variety of cool materials perfect for tinkering with and exploring. What’s tinkering? It’s all about hands-on experiences, learning from failures, and unstructured time to explore and invent better solutions to current problems. And it’s fun!
