October 17 – October 31 is National Friends of the Library Week. We wanted to take this opportunity to give a big thank you to our Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library. We are so lucky to have a very active and supportive Friends. Friend volunteers work year round on different projects to help make your library one of the best libraries in the Milwaukee County Federated Library System. Friends take new members at any time, and it’s so easy to sign up. Here are a few of the ways in which Friends support the Whitefish Bay Public Library.

  • Friend volunteers work weekly to sort books for their biannual booksale.
  • Friends of the Whitefish Bay Library Booksale happens in the first weekends of May and November. So many treasures can be procured at the sale.
  • Materials are sorted by categories so it’s easy to find that perfect treasure.
  • The next book sale will be held on November 6 from 9:30AM-3:30PM and November 7 from 12-3PM.
  • There is also a preview for Friends only that happens on Friday November 5. This is one of the many perks of being a Friend.
  • Looking for collectible, rarities, or just new to you items? Check out Friends eBay shop:  "Baybooks53217FWFBL.” You never know what titles may show up. Books purchased in Friends’ eBay shop support Friends projects.
  • You can also support Friends by shopping at Amazon smile. Select “Friends of the Whitefish Bay Library” as your charity, and they will receive .5% of every purchase that you make.

All of the money Friends raises support programs and projects throughout the year. Here are some of their one-time contributions that have helped the library excel:

Thank you Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library for all your hard work!
